How The Morning Feels

The peace I feel in the mornings is worth millions of early alarm clocks
The morning darkness surrounding like a comforting Father's strong arms
Imagining the first sunrise after "Let there be light" calling forth goodness and hope for the first time
Knowing each new day that you are good, you are trustworthy, you show up here
This crazy, beautiful, maddening place where few things make any sense at all
Baseline sunrise breathes you are here
The light screams, "YOU ARE GOOD"
The light whispers, "Isn't He good?!"
My eyes are drooping as I sit in this cozy place
There's an urgency to the ticking minutes that makes me want to call out my soul
And cuddle back to sleep all at once
The flesh is weak, you say, but you love the squish of my skin
